West Maintenance is committed to achieving a high standard of corporate citizenship. To this end we are determined to safeguard our employees, customers, members of the public and our environment against accidental injury or damage.

To do this West Maintenance will:

  • Develop and maintain safe systems of work, and a safe working environment.
  • Provide information and training at all levels in the organisation to enable all employees to support this policy.
  • Require all risks to be assessed prior to engaging in new areas of operation, purchasing new equipment, and implementing new work methods and that these risks continue to be reviewed.
  • Consider the long-term implications to health, safety and the environment with respect to the production of goods and materials procured for use by West Maintenance, the use of these goods and materials within our company, and the ultimate disposal of wastes.

All persons who are responsible for the work activities of other employees will be held accountable for:

  • Identifying practices and conditions that could injure employees, customers, and members of the public or our environment.
  • Implementing steps to control such situations.
  • Or, if unable to control such practices and conditions, reporting these to their superiors.
  • West Maintenance demands a positive attitude and performance with respect to health, safety and the environment by all employees, irrespective of their position.
